Owner of car in accident with LaBeouf cited
2008-08-20
LOS ANGELES - A citation has been issued to the owner of a car that crashed into a pickup truck driven by Shia LaBeouf. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore on Wednesday said 21-year-old Simon Herbert of Los Angeles was given a citation after the car failed to stop at a red light. Whitmore says deputies are still trying to determine if Herbert was driving his car at the time of the July 27 accident. Attempts to find a telephone listing for Herbert were not immediately successful. The 22-year-old LaBeouf's hand was crushed when his truck flipped in the West Hollywood collision. The actor, who has been filming the "Transformers" sequel, spent several days in a hospital. Herbert's citation was issued Friday.
