H.K. financial chief confirms dating Mingxia

HONG KONG - Hong Kong's No. 3 leader Antony Leung said Saturday he is dating Chinese diving gold medalist Fu Mingxia, confirming a news report which revealed their relationship the same day. ''I am very pleased to confirm that Fu Mingxia and I are seeing each other,'' said Leung, 50, the territory's financial secretary, commenting on the report, which also said the two have plans to marry after Fu, 23, graduates from university. ''What has been said in that news report is basically correct. Since this is a private matter between the two of us, I hope all of you can give us some space so that we can further develop our relationship,'' he told reporters. Fu, the youngest diving world champion, is a four-time Olympic gold medalist and was born in Wuhan in China's central Hubei province. She is studying economic management at Beijing's Tsinghua University. Leung, a former banker, became Hong Kong's financial chief last May. He is No. 3 in the territory's leadership after Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa and Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang.
