Swimming world records set by De Bruijn

SHEFFIELD, England - Dutch swimmer Inge de Bruijn equalled the 50 meters freestyle world record and broke her own 50 meters butterfly world mark Friday. De Bruijn clocked 24.51 seconds in the 50 meters freestyle heats at the ``Super Grand Prix'' final long-course meeting to equal the world record set by China's Le Jingyi at the world championships in Rome on Sept. 11, 1994. The time beat De Bruijn's European record of 24.84 set at the European championships in Istanbul last July 31. De Bruijn clocked 25.64 seconds in 50 meters butterfly heats to beat the mark of 25.83 she set last Saturday in Monaco.
