Yung's flat on the top floor of Village Terrace, Village Road, was destroyed in the blaze, believed to have been started when a television overheated.
Debris from the fire fell on the building's watchman, who suffered facial injuries.
The fire broke out at 10.30am and more than 100 residents were evacuated. Seven fire engines were used and the fire was extinguished within an hour.
Yung's mother said the fire began in her daughter's bedroom. "I tried to put out the fire with a blanket but failed," she said.
She said Yung had returned home at 12.30am yesterday. The television was on all night.
Yung, who rose to fame last year, lives in the apartment with her mother, brother and a domestic helper.
She was discharged after medical treatment.
Kwong Wan Fire Station's Divisional Officer Leung Wai-hung said it was hard to put out the fire. "The passage way is very narrow. Our fire engines had to be parked 300 to 400 metres away," he said.
