BEIJING - Former China captain Fan Zhiyi plans to retire after his contract with English first division Crystal Palace expires in 2002, the China Sports News said on Friday.
Fan, 31, and fellow China defender Sun Jihai became the first Chinese to play for an English club when they signed for Palace in 1998.
