China's Qian to visit Washington in March

LOS ANGELES - Chinese Vice Premier Qian Qichen will visit Washington in March, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday, quoting U.S. government officials. A Qian visit would be the first by a senior Chinese official to the United States since the inauguration of President George W. Bush. Chinese Ambassador Li Zhaoxing proposed a Qian visit in a recent meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, the newspaper said.
