Raimi producing Internet horror shows
2007-06-06
"Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi will help create original Internet shows for FEARnet, a horror and thriller Web site and video-on-demand provider. Ghost House Pictures, a joint venture involving Raimi, launched the first of two such series, "Devil's Trade," on Wednesday. The series of short episodes will follow three teenagers who are cursed after buying an item online. The two series are the first efforts Raimi has made since directing "Spider-Man 3," which opened last month. They're also a return of sorts for Raimi, who directed the cult horror classic "The Evil Dead" and produced other genre films such as "The Grudge." FEARNet is a joint venture between cable television provider Comcast Corp., Sony Pictures Television, a unit of Sony Corp (NYSE:SNE)., and Lionsgate Entertainment Corp. It is available online, on mobile devices and on Comcast video on demand. ___ On the Net: http://www.fearnet.com (This version CORRECTS the reference to Sam Raimi directing "The Grudge"; he directed it.)
