Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida, 79, has confirmed she will wed long-time partner and Spanish businessman Javier Rigau Rafols, 45. "This is not a fly by night decision," Lollobrigida, nicknamed "la Lollo" told an Italian television station. "When you are with the same person for 22 years it's a solid arrangement." The actress met Rafols, a Spanish real estate entrepreneur, in Monte Carlo in 1984 when he was just 23. "He is young, joyful, intelligent, and we have fun together," said Lollobrigida. "We don't feel the age difference at all, which surprises others, but not us." It will be the second marriage for Lollobrigida, who split from Yugoslav doctor Milko Skofic in 1971 after 22 years of marriage together and with whom she has a son. A former model, Lollobrigida's big breakthrough came in 1953, when she starred alongside Humphrey Bogart in John Huston's 1953 romp, "Beat the Devil." Italians dubbed their answer to Elizabeth Taylor "the most beautiful woman in the world" after she starred in her signature movie "La Donna piu bella del mondo" (1955). In the 1970s Lollobrigida turned her interest to photojournalism and today she keeps busy with photography and sculpture. Lollobrigida said the couple plans to get married in the United States because "we have been bothered enough here, the telephone rings non stop." She added that her Italian-designed wedding dress "will not be white". The Italian newspaper, La Stampa, reported the pair will tie the knot in November.
