General Dynamics CEO sees 2007 profit below Street

NEW YORK - The chief executive of defense contractor General Dynamics Corp. on Wednesday forecast full-year earnings below Wall Street estimates, due chiefly to lower-than-expected sales due to the uncertainty on the timing of funding for projects related to Iraq and Afghanistan.Nicholas Chabraja, speaking on a conference call after the company's quarterly results, said he expects full year 2007 earnings of $4.60 per share. Wall Street analysts were expecting profit of $4.76 per share, according to Reuters Estimates. He said he expects 2007 revenue of $26.3 billion. Analysts were expecting revenue of $26.9 billion, on average.
